As a staff attorney for Sims|Funk, Ryan assists in the representation of clients in business litigation matters in state and federal courts and before other tribunals. His practice involves a wide variety of matters, including breach of contract, business torts, governance disputes, business “divorces,” trade secret/non-compete claims, real estate and construction litigation and regulatory matters.

Before practicing law, Ryan worked for eight years in the music industry, handling royalty and licensing administration on behalf of music publishers and record labels.

Prior to joining Sims|Funk, Ryan served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Jeffrey Bivins of the Tennessee Supreme Court. Ryan graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Bruin Scholarship and served as a Submissions Editor of the Belmont Law Review. Ryan received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Belmont University, with an emphasis in Music Business and Production.
